Our Wine Maker

Carrie Bonvallet

Carrie brings with her a long history in the production of wine and beer. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She earned her postgraduate diploma of Brewing and Distilling from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. She fell into winemaking by chance and learned the craft on the job. Her career has spanned more than 20 years. She spent three years as an assistant brewer at a brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin before taking some time off to spend with her children. Carrie then worked as the head winemaker at two Ohio wineries for eight years before transitioning to making wine for White Timbers. She currently lives in Wooster, Ohio with her husband Paul. Their two college-age children attend Lehigh University and Moravian University, both in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
